Wednesday 18th January (part2)

An unwelcome visitor is the starling.  Unwelcome because starlings would gobble up the fat block in a day given the chance - and after all, they have plenty of food put out for them on the bird table.

Fortunately, no starling has managed to squeeze inside yet!

Much more appreciated is the nuthatch.  We understand from the RSPB that nuthatches are to be seen further north.  I hope that doesn't mean that we will lose them here!

Another visit from the blackcap!

Trying to tell a great tit where to go!

Unfortunately, this time the great tit didn't take any notice and so the blackcap left.

She was not put off though and nine minutes later she was back.

"I can look like a nuthatch too!"

Well in posture anyway!
