Immediately
we had switched on this morning, we thought that a second chick might be on
its way! |
It
flew up to the hole and stayed looking out for a while ... |
... but eventually its courage failed it, and it rather clumsily slid back
into the box. |
A
short while later it had another look outside ... |
.. but again it retreated back inside. It is interesting to see that the other chicks greet its retreat as though it was one of their parents coming to feed them! |
And
here is one of their parents coming to the nest box. |
Feed
me, feed me!Will has a rather large insect in his beak. I hope he knows what he is doing in feeding it to them! |
A
couple of minutes later, one of the chicks looks out again ... |
... but again, it's no go! |
What
a pity I got the angle of the side camera too high. It's capable of
taking some lovely pictures! |
Another
pic from the side. |
When
Rosie does deign to come to the nest (she seems to leave most of the visits
to Will these days) she often flies straight on to the ledge beneath the
side camera and feeds the favoured chick from there. |
